I'm excited for this year's New York Anime Festival! Yet even more for the Japanese Street Fashion panels & events.

The reason I ask is because I see this board as a great resource for local cosplayers and photographers (like myself) to get together. Personally, I think my skills could use some work, but why wait for NYAF to build those skills when I could be doing that now, while the sun is still shining brilliantly? I want my NYAF pics to be outstanding but I can only do that with practice. For Cosplayers, it's a free photo op, for me anyway. I don't charge for pictures. It's such a beatiful...

I know that Death Note will be a popular cosplay theme for this con. But still, I want to know who's going as a DN character, or which one is the most popular. I will be going as L (omg, SO original), my friends as Matt and Near. It'd be kinda cool to find a Light there and make some "fanservice" videos. Also, a Mello would be nice too (he/she'd be fought over by the Matts and Nears. Which pairing will win?!)

All Access Passes

I know this has to be on your list of things coming soon but any idea when the all access passes will be available and how they will be different (if at all) from last year? I was very happy with my pass last year and am currently planning on buying one again as long as I get the same (or greater) benifits without a too noticiable price difference.

Best parts to me were:
Early and preferred seating at the big events (most important)

I'm very happy to announce Japanese voice actress Rie Tanaka will appear at New York Anime Festival 2008 as a Guest of Honor. Ms. Tanaka is most known around the globe for voicing Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED, Chii in Chobits, and Suigintou in Rozen Maiden, but this is just the tip of her resume.

I get this every time I ask on a forum, so before someone points it out... yeah, I know its an anime con xP But occasionally I see MGS cosplayers and I'm disappointed photoshoots are never arranged, soooo...

Any MGS cosplayers? Wanna do a photoshoot? I may be going as Meryl, so a shoot with a bunch of other people would be sweet. =D

Last year was my first time ever going to a Anime Con. I had no idea what was gonna happen to me. There was so much going around that I almost poop myself. But I only got to go on the last day...that's right....sunday. Not alot was going around. I was there till moring to closeing. I try to see everything, and I did, got 3 manga, and that's it. I wish I could see the Anime that they were showing. But HELL! I was able to do the hare hare yukai dance!

I just wanted to throw that out there cuz it was so much easier for me to know about these things during the Animenext Convention. It was very well organized (in my opinion) and it allowed for many to have an opportunity to take photos, as most of us really like to do ^^.

I'll start off with a list of some popular cosplays that were grouped at animenext. People can make more suggestions if they know that there will be more than at least 5 cosplayers.

I just wanted to make sure. Is the Musical Guest for the Friday Night Concert really MC Chris?

Not to Offend but weren't there any JPOP or JBands available at all? MC Chris is a creative talent but he is far from someone who should get a 3 hour concert in NYC at a event such as this? He was at ComicCon on the Mini Stage and people were wearing their Ipods for god sakes.

No offense again...I am just disappointed with all the great Anime OST's out there that have...

I'm really small......and 15.....and my hair is not what I want to be. But should I wear the red or Green Jacket? I'm still thinking about that......
